Carol has over 25 years of experience in teaching and coaching gymnastics. She began coaching when her children got involved in gymnastics, and continues with it because of her love of the sport. Teri has worked in the office for Flip n Twist since January of 2002. Her daughter, Abby, started then as well. As Abby continued in gymnastics, Teri became more and more interested in the business side of the sport and as luck would have it, Flip n Twist had an opening and hired her. Abby eventually retired from the sport, but Teri has never been able to let it go. She still enjoys watching the students learn, listening to the coaches coach, and meeting the wonderful families that attend our facility. Over the years, Teri has done just about every duty in the gym (except coach – well, she has helped with preschool before!) She is currently responsible for coordinating payroll and doing whatever tasks the owners might have for her to do. You will find Teri working the front desk in the mornings and doing a lot of “behind the scenes” work and activities in the afternoons. Whatever it takes to make Flip n Twist better is her goal. If you have any questions, please ask. If she doesn’t know the answer, she’ll try to find it for you!
Mindy teaches preschool and educational classes. She has been working at Flip n Twist since 2008, but has been there as a parent since 2004. Mindy has 3 girls. The youngest is a Level 2 and the older is a Level 7 gymnast. Mindy graduated from Princeton High School and Northern Kentucky University, where she majored in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Besides teaching high school math, she also coached softball and cheerleading at the high school level. After becoming a mother, Mindy decided to stay at home and babysit for several years.
“I really enjoy being around the little ones in classes and watching their faces light up when they do something for the first time!”
Beth works in our office. She has worked for Flip n Twist for 8 years.
“I have 4 children, 22 years old, 18 years old, 12 years old and last but not least an 11 year old. I have two awesome little dogs named Parker and Oliver. My hobbies are attending my children’s sporting events and spending time with my husband, Tony, and my girls. I enjoy working the front desk because I get to meet so many new friends. I enjoy watching the children grow up and become young adults.”
Jessica is director of our Developmental Program. She also coaches pre-school, teaches educational classes, helps with Parents Night Out, Birthday Parties, and our In House Team Meets and Exhibitions. “I joined the military and while I was deployed I attended the University Maryland University. I was a Level 9 gymnast with Flip n Twist Gymnastics. I am USA Gymnastics Safety Certified and I have my U100 USA Gymnastics Certification. I love being a mom to my sons Colton and Jackson, coaching gymnastics, and still doing gymnastics. I love that children learn life lessons, and I love this sport and want to share my passion with children of every age.”
Christy works in our office. She has lived in Ohio for 39 years. Christy has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Business Management. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking and photography. Christy has a daughter on our Level 5 Compulsory Team.
“I enjoy working in the office a few nights a week meeting new friends and learning more about the sport of gymnastics. This gives me the chance to tell others about the benefits of gymnastics. It is a pleasure to meet and watch all of the customers at Flip n Twist!”
Jamel teaches all levels of Tumbling. He also does Birthday Parties. Jamel graduated from Winton Woods High School and he is currently attending Cincinnati State.
“My interest is in Marketing, Web Design, and Graphic Design. I was a gymnast and also worked on tumbling/trampoline at Queen City Gymnastics. I have also been involved with competition dancing and music videos. I am a USAG certified Tumbling Instructor, USA Gymnastics Safety Certified, and I have USA Gymnastics U100 Certification. My hobbies include computer graphics, break dancing, parkour, and stunt choreography. I enjoy coaching gymnastics because I believe that there is no greater joy than expressing yourself through physical activity–be it running, jumping, dancing, flipping, or twisting. I’m just glad to be able to give my students a new way to express their inner-being.”
Amanda is our USA Gymnastics Level 3 head coach. She also teaches recreational classes during the week. Amanda was a gymnast for 15 years.
